Keep it Moving! John Eaton Athletics for our Renaissance Children
Eaton understands that part of a well-rounded education means giving children the opportunity to develop socially and physically through movement. We feature organized sports like basketball that allow children to compete against other DCPS teams as well as activities like cross-country running, Zumba, yoga, flag football, and soccer that are more focused on getting kids moving, determining what sports they like, and giving them an outlet for their boundless energy.
Boys' and Girls' Basketball
Eaton has both boys' and girls' basketball teams. The season starts with tryouts in the late fall and lasts through February. The teams practice twice a week and play games against neighboring elementary schools beginning in December and ending in February. The John Eaton's boys' team won the City Championship in 2013, and our basketball teams were Regional Champions in 2009 and 2010, placed 2nd place city-wide in 2009 and 2010 and participated in regionals in 2010 and 2011. |

Stoddert Soccer
While not affiliated with the school, DC Stoddert Soccer has an Eaton team at nearly every grade level. The Stoddert league and the Eaton teams provide a great opportunity for children to have fun with their classmates in an informal setting while learning soccer skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Sign up for Fall and Spring seasons through the Stoddert site, and, when you register, note that your child(ten) would like to join the Eaton team associated with his or her grade. |
