Parents will receive communications from multiple channels:
Additionally, DCPS will occasionally send official information such as grade reports. You are automatically registered (through your myschooldc application), although there can only handle one email per family. More on Aspen/Blackboard, and complete information here.
- The Eaton Principal, Brandon Eatman, sends weekly updates via Smores. To stay informed, click on the word 'Smores.' Then, scroll to the bottom of the page and click the 'Subscribe' button.
- The HSA President (Liz Breckenridge) sends weekly updates of parent-led activities through AtoZ Connect, which is also the School Directory. It also allows parents to contact other families in their children's classes. Registered parents will get a link to an interactive map of families, and everyone will get a printed directory. Each parent decides how much they want to share (name, email, address, phone).
- Any parent can post on the HSA listserv, to start discussion about school topics (questions, ideas, information).
- Room parents and teachers will also send emails pertaining to each individual class.
- Subscribe to the Calendar to see HSA activities, all days off and more in your own calendar.
- Some information will also be shared on Facebook and twitter.

DCPS Aspen portal:
Report cards and important school updates and information, such as your student IDs and passwords, are sent through Aspen.
Warning: only the ONE email given upon registration will receive newsletters. It's unclear if parents can add another email address.
If you can't access it and can't "recover your password" (it didn't work for me), call the DCPS Aspen support at 202-442-9281 and they will be able to help you, even though you might have to insist a bit (some of the staff think that they support staff only, which is not true).
