The Home and School Association (HSA) would like to extend a warm welcome to all of our new and returning families. We have an exciting year ahead and we want to thank you in advance for your support and involvement! The John Eaton parent community is amazing. Our efforts will continue to provide a wide range of educational and enrichment programs to complement the school’s curriculum. Everything you do and all the support you provide goes directly to fund our enhanced academic activities including providing an art teacher for all students and supporting two enrichment coordinators whose work includes everything from our garden, supplementary class programming, field trips, and much more.

What is the purpose of the HSA?
The HSA raises funds to implement a wide range of educational and enrichment initiatives that enhance the academic experience of all Eaton students. The HSA funds Eaton's two enrichment coordinators, the Innovation Lab, several social gatherings throughout the year, the African Dance Program, the Washington Ballet Program, technology and supplies for classrooms and so much more! These additional programs truly set Eaton apart and provide Eaton students a richer educational experience.
How can I join the HSA?
HSA membership is open to all families whose children attend John Eaton School and to all John Eaton faculty and staff. There are no membership costs or dues. All parents and staff are encouraged to attend the HSA meetings the second Tuesday of each month at 6:00pm in the John Eaton Library. The monthly meetings provide a forum to discuss common issues or concerns, plan fundraising activities, and exchange ideas.
When does the HSA meet?
HSA meetings occur on the second Tuesday of each month from 6:00-7:30. To make it easier for parents to attend, JEAP provides childcare during meetings, and the HSA provides pizza for both the kids and the adults. So please join us! Please keep apprised of HSA meeting dates through the school calendar.
Where can I find HSA meeting minutes?
Here are all available meeting minutes.
I am interested in joining the HSA board. Where can I find HSA position descriptions?
All Eaton parents are invited to join the HSA board. Read more about the HSA Board Position Descriptions (2015 - an update is coming soon) and reach out to any current board member to learn more and apply. A vote will be conducted in the Spring or Summer to elect new board members.
For 2022/23, we are still actively looking to fill the following position: Fundraising Chair.
Where can I find the HSA bylaws? And what about other HSA documentation?
Download the HSA Bylaws, our Articles of Incorporation, our DC Tax Exempt certificate, and our IRS Tax Exempt letter.
The John Eaton HSA is a registered 501(c)(3) and donations can be deducted as such (EIN: 52-1067080).
