Sunday, February 26 @ 10 AM - 7 PM Don't forget: 1. at the bookstore: show the 20% Flyer 2. at Comet Pizza: tell your server that you are supporting Eaton and write “EATON” on your check! Eat at Comet Ping Pong the weekend of the book fair: 15% of your bill supports Eaton! We hope to see many Eaton families for one of our favorite annual fundraisers & community building events. This special event supports our community's love of reading, raises funds for the school, and provides hundreds of books for Eaton classrooms. The book fair is a great way to shop for you, friends, family, upcoming birthday gifts and more. It is also a fabulous way to help support Eaton. Please save the date and join us there! |
The Book Fair has taken a few different forms over the past couple years, so in case you have questions about what to expect this year, here are the basics:
What is the Eaton Book Fair?
The Eaton Book Fair is a partnership with Politics & Prose bookstores that benefits John Eaton Elementary School in two key ways. First, 20% of purchases the weekend of the book fair go back to Eaton IF you show the book fair flier at check-out. Second, all of our classroom teachers have wish lists of books they would like to add to their classroom collections.
Teacher wish lists
The below links are SignUpGenius pages for book wish lists created by the grade level classroom teachers, specials teachers, instructional specialists, and the library.
Click the link(s) to see the lists you would like to choose books from. Once you open the SignUpGenius page, sign up for a book once it is in your hand at the bookstore to show that you have purchased it. On sign-up items that are for book series, please indicate the title you chose in the comment box when you sign up.
If my family purchases a book from the classroom wish list, how does my student share it with their Eaton teacher?
Families received a bag to send your books to Eaton in and book plates on which your student can write their name and the name of the teacher for whom the family purchased the wish list book.
Which Politics and Prose bookstore location is participating?
New this year, we will be partnering with all three Politics and Prose locations: NW DC (5015 Connecticut Ave., NW), the one next to Comet Ping Pong; The Wharf (70 District Square SW); and Union Market (1270 5th Street NE). So long as you show the paper or electronic version of the book fair flier at check-out, 20% of your purchase at all three locations will go back to Eaton!
